My Samsung tablet cannot start. The tablet is a Samsung Tab A 10.1. It used to work until a few days ago but maybe this is because the battery ran out. I will explain.

The only way I can get any response is with power on, to press Power, vol down and Home together for several seconds. The screen will then open and I can continue or cancel once I press the cancel button the tablet will boot to the Android booting screen repeatedly as if in a loop. Turn the tablet off and the sequence repeats again.

Can anyone help. Please ask any questions.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to Android Central! I moved this from the Android 15 forum to the Tab A 10.1 forum.

Try leaving the tablet plugged into a wall outlet for at least 4 hours undisturbed. Then press and hold Power for about 15 seconds to see if it powers on normally.

Depending on which generation of the Tab A 10.1 you have, it might be failing due to age. The first gen was released in 2016, so that would be 9 years old (which is very old by tech standards).

Hi

Sorry for delay in replying. I did what you suggest and nothing works. What I was looking for actually was any procedure for being able to boot the tablet into recovery mode or another mode. Looking at the posts I read about something called Odin. What is that?

No. I used to load custom firmware on my earlier Asus Transformer so I am somewhat familiar with the process but it has been a while since I did that.
