Hello,
During a program/system update, the process was interrupted and cancelled. Now, I only can boot into a startup screen, (music, Samsung logo) and then it freezes. I can boot into safe mode and have done a factory reset, as well as cache clean. The tablet will not shut down unless the battery fails. I need to plug in and then I can boot up.
I am open to suggestions as to loading a new OS via a microSD card, such as stock android but as I have never done this before, links to things would help. I understand that due to limitations of hardware, it can only be updated so far.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

It sounds like the OP already tried wiping the cache partition (unless "cache clean" was referring to app caches only).

You mentioned being able to boot into Safe Mode -- do you mean it actually reached the homescreen, and you were able to use preinstalled apps without difficulty?

HI.
Thanks for the quick replies. I have tried recovery mode and re-setting to factory but no go. I can get to the ODIN screen and get out of it. It hangs or freezes right after I boot normally and the music/logo screen show right before it would go to a home page. It gets stuck on "SAMSUNG" logo.
belodian: I reviewed your suggestion but due to the remark about Malware in context to Odin, I am concerned about loading it onto my desktop.. Has a newer version come out? The post was from 2015.
Anything else?

I simply linked that as a guide to flashing the stock firmware via Odin, which is how it's done on Samsungs. I'm not a Samsung user but so far as I know there's no other way of doing it, and that remains the normal method. No doubt there have been several versions of Odin since then.

I don't mean to sound like a broken record, but I didn't see you mention anything about Safe Mode in your last post. Can you confirm that you're still unable to complete the boot process in Safe Mode?

B.Diddy..
Sorry. Didn't understand that "Safe mode" was different than "Recovery mode". I have now tried to boot to Safe mode and I there is no difference. It still hangs on Samsung logo.. I think I need to re-install the OS via my computer.
1 last question:
Since I need to install something, would you install the original OS or go with stock android or something else? (Considering the age of the tablet) Thanks
