Samsung Gear 2 no longer receiving any notifications

I realized a few days ago that I wasn't getting notifications of sport scores on my watch when I knew I would normally get them. At that time I was on the top of a mountain in the snow, so I didn't think that much of it. That night, when I got home, I checked, and my last notification I think I received was for a email I received at about 12:15 am that morning. I tried re-connecting my watch and S5, restarted my S5, then my Gear, which froze on the screen that says "Samsung Gear 2" for about 5 minutes before I held down the button to turn it off, then turned it on and it stared normally. Still I'm not getting any notifications. I checked the watch and Gear manager and both of those are set to receive notifications. When I took a photo with my watch it transferred straight to my S5. I don't think this is a problem with the watch, as it appears to be in top condition, as I can now squeeze 5 days out of one charge.

I haven't tried a factory reset as re-pairing and re installing apps is a pain. I'll try it if there is no other way though. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You could try going into Gear Manager and doing a Backup of the watch settings. Then, reset the watch, pair it again, and restore the backup to see if it starts working.

Also, was the phone screen on and the watch setting turned on where it doesn't send a notification if the phone is active?
