Samsung Gear S3 pre-purchase question

I'm thinking of replacing my Pebble Time with a Gear S3. I've looked at Android 2.0 watches already, and they really don't seem to do this one thing I need.

Basically, I'm a psychotherapist. I have a separate calendar which syncs with my Pebble and is limited just to appointments for when clients are in. Then, I set the Pebble to go into Quiet Time whenever one of the appointments is "live", so that the watch doesn't vibrate and go PTHBBBB in the middle of a quiet moment if someone phones or texts me during that time.

Is there either a native way or an app which will accomplish this job? It's pretty much the deal-breaker for a new watch. I don't want to e.g. turn off Bluetooth on a schedule (although I could), because it's useful to have the watch connected for other functions.

It needs to be automatic in this way (or similar) so I don't have to remember to do it manually.

Any ideas, anyone, please?

The Gear S3 has a "Do Not Disturb" setting which blocks all notifications. I doesn't look like there is a built-in way to invoke it automatically based on a calendar event thought.

Thanks for the reply, and dammit, I thought I was onto something there :-(

Such a simple thing, why don't other manufacturers build it in?

I don't want to use rules to disable BT, which has the same overall effect, as that means I can't use the watch for anything else either.

Grrr!

Instead of automating Bluetooth to turn off, you could try automating disabling the notifications going to the phone.

Samsung Gear (app) -> Settings -> Notifications

This may preserve the "other functions" that you mention above.

That's another thought, indeed. Part of the issue is that I don't have the watch in-hand, so I can't assess how much of an issue the vibration would be anyway. Probably ok for messages (PRRB), not for calls (PRRB...PRRB...PRRB).

Turning off the connection might be the only way, overall. Need to get one to play with, I think!
