Samsung Giving up on Note line?

Well, if I designed a Note it would be like this:

8GB ram

512GB built in storage

Removable battery

IR blaster

FLAT 6.3 Inch screen

Water resistant

Finger print sensor in screen.

That would be my phone if I built it

I wonder how much it would cost to produce and buy lol.

Actually it was even earlier.
The LG Optimus had a dual camera setup in 2011.
hTC One M8, released in 2014, had a dual camera setup that works as most phones these days do.

And 2016 was kind of the explosion of dual rear camera setups with the LG G5, LG G6 and the Huawei P9 all offering dual camera setups.

Uh you guys are missing the point.

The first Samsung phone with Dual cameras not the first phone ever. I know that lol

Re: SamsungvGiving up on Note line?

The note 8 was not the first phone with a dual cam setup. It was available around a year (at least) earlier than the note 8
First Samsung phone man lol.

We were talking about the S series vs the Note line as to which lines get the new tech first.

I would buy this without hesitation so long as the price is reasonable.

If I had millions laying around or was very wealthy like Trump I would simply pay the couple million and have a smartphone custom built for me like I listed above. FLAT screen would be one feature of it but it would be like a super phone. Everything customized to MY specs what I want. Think a 2019 version of the Note two thru 4. built like a tank. None of this back glass BS we got now and FLAT screen.

There are videos on YouTube which is suggesting that Samsung is purposely lagging behind in terms of new innovation on phones, but introducing higher specs (best screen, big ram, big storage) on their phones so that others will follow. This is because their semi-con business is making much more money than their smartphone business.

So, you don't like wireless charging, either? Sometimes, the phones built like a tank are ugly.
Just give me the unbreakable display so people don't need to worry about dropping it and cracking the display and use some type of carbon/titanium back side, whichever one works with wireless charging.
Put like a 2" screen on the back side for selfies to replace the camera on the front. I mentioned this months ago and read an article about the same thing a few weeks later. So, it doesn't seem so far fetched.

My only what Samsung is the Note series deemed to have taken a back step to the S when it should be the other way around.

Take the ON-SCREEN FINGER PRINT SCANNER, if it is indeed ready why not put it on the Note first?

Up here it's $1,299 for the 128GB.

I'm okay with that, I get it but why can't the Note get upgraded Snapdragon, making 8GB RAM standard, etc.

Haven't you noticed the latest criticisms that the Note is only an S with a Pen.

Seems like we're just playing more for an bigger battery and an S-Pen.

I wonder how will it get upgraded Snapdragon when it doesn't exist yet. Also I doubt the onscreen scanner is ready. Did you see the ones by Vivo and Huawei? It sucked, was slow, and isn't reliable, and that was from the same guys who were developing for Samsung. It's a joint research between them and Synaptics. You're also paying for more storage and more software whose developers need to get paid.

I didn't know lol ñ but also saying what if they were ready. I doubt Samsung will use them.

My point was Samsung should do more for the Note series. Not just a bigger battery.

We're at a point in technology where we aren't progressing in leaps and bounds anymore. New things go up all the time but they aren't reliable. Samsung has released its future plan pathway document thing. Most of it's RnD isn't going to go to the phone business anymore. It's going to go make it's phone reliable now instead of bleeding edge. Kinda like Apple. There are a lot of videos of "analysts" on Youtube trying to dissect Samsung's statement on this, where they're gonna let others be on the bleeding edge while they concentrate on design and reliability. Truth be told, all reviewers are on the concensus that Samsung's UI is becoming more fluid and reliable than they used to be. Because Samsung is now focusing on the experience. They're moving in a different direction now.

What do you mean. Curved scree ?? Lol
It totally is ! Especially compared to apple or anyone else ......

I think they were still fine tuning the in display sensor during development and reached a point where the would need to delay production or go without. Stories earlier this year were saying the Note9 would be first. I don't think it was a matter of giving it to the S10 first. All about timing is what I am guessing.

I find it hard to believe they would kill off the note line since expanding experience with the Spen ability via Bluetooth. This may be the beginning for the return of other things, such as the IR blaster maybe, a mini mic, or a speaker. I think it's a beginning for a new direction for the Note line. We shall see
