Samsung Illusion Sorry The application Email has stopped unexpectedly

I can no longer see or refresh my e-mail on my phone. I get the message Sorry The application (process com.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force close. After I force close it may pop up a few more times while looking or doing other things on the phone. I took the phone into the Verizon store, but the person that I spoke with had never seen this. What can I do to fix this?

Welcome to Android Central! Try going to Settings>Apps>All, select Email, and Clear Cache. If that doesn't help, you might consider Clear Data, but to be honest, I'm not sure what that would do to any of the emails currently on your phone. They should be synced with the exchange server, so I don't think you would lose anything permanently.
