Samsung Internet Browser or Chrome on S9?

Hi,

I recently started using Chrome browser on my laptop and just started to think that maybe I should ask this question if the native Samsung Internet browser is good to use on an S9 phone as opposed to using Chrome. I am more focused on security, so my question would be, is Samsung Internet Browser secure to use than Chrome?

Also, does Chrome use more battery consumption as opposed to the Samsung Browser?

In terms of the GUI on the Samsung Browser, the Settings menu is easier to use and straight forward and no clutter. Everything appears to be plain and simple.

What are your thoughts? Who is using which on their S9? Is there a Poll I can view here or some other site?

However, I had been reading up on the Samsung Browser, and pretty much good reviews on it.

Thanks!

The Samsung Browser is built on the Chrome engine. So basically it's Chrome with more features. I don't see any reason to choose Chrome over it.

No brainers.. Samsung Browser is the best..
Simple,light and fast ...
Chrome is ok but heavy mem.. sucker..

I use Samsung Internet because dark mode, high contrast mode, log in web site with my eyes,
More features and still get bookmarks from chrome. So no-brainer

Agree Samsung Browser is best, not going to repeat all the points made above but the most important one is it just works without an issue ever period.

Samsung Browser has more usability, chrome doesn't work well with dex. You can't right click mouse and cut, copy or paste with chrome you have to use keyboard shotcut, the zoom doesn't work in chome, I only use chrome as the porn Browser, that's all it's good for.

I use Samsung internet browser all time even in my pixel. It's fast and the best part about it you can block ads in any websites. This is the main reason I use it in all my smartphones.

Many thanks to all for the quick replies.

One last question, on my Home Screen, I had been using the "Internet" app which was there by default when I got the S9. Is that the same as the Samsung Browser?

Yes that's the Samsung browser

If your on beta, they've made some nice changes. Otherwise I use the beta Internet. I disable Chrome though keep Dev version installed, never use though.

Quick Access is a handy feature once set up.

I wish the naming convention was consistent. Sometimes it's called Samsung Internet, other times just Internet. Same with Messages, only the icon differentiates from Google.
