Samsung J5 with 8GB of memory

My partner was sold a Samsung J5 at her last upgrade. It's actually a decent phone, great battery life. But the phone is crippled by only having 8GB internal storage.

Is there anyway to get apps to install on the SD card? Some like Facebook can be moved in the storage settings menu, but something keeps moving them back to internal storage. She's not got a lot of apps installed, yet she is now at the point where she can't install anymore because internal memory is full. It's not helped by some apps not having settings for media storage location, e.g. WhatsApp, Instgram. I constantly have to clear these out for her in order to squeeze one more app on.

I have the same problem and, unfortunately, the OS (5.2) doesn't allow for a permanent move to the SD card so there's no way to overcome this annoying feature. It's not a perfect solution but try this:
Download AppMgrIII (Application Manager 3) from the Play Store and it can be used as an aid to letting you know when an app needs to be moved to the SD card after an update. It also has some nice additional touches which you may like. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the AppMgrIII recommendation. It's not a full solution like (I assume) rooting would give, but it's very helpful. My partner isn't all that tech savvy, so I'd be concerned that rooting her phone might open her up to some security vulnerabilities.
