Samsung Kids Mode - Screen never turns off! Ack

We got our kids a Galaxy Tablet and use Kids Mode exclusively for them (it's terrific if you have little ones!)

The problem is that the screen hates being off. It *NEVER* will turn off automatically. Ever. And if you turn it off manually, it will turn itself back on for any number of reasons (low charge, fully charged, updates, etc) and then stay on until the battery dies.

Any way to get the darned screen to turn off and stay off?

There should be a setting for this in your KM dashboard. If you installed this after the fact, i.e. it wasn't preloaded on the device, you can download it from the play store. It also offers you time limits, and activity overview, and the ability to change the password for it on the device. I think stock KM has some settings within the app that include behavior. So look at the KM app settings and also look at the KM Dashboard.

Have you downloaded the dashboard or do you see it in your app drawer? It's been years since mine were young enough to appreciate KM but there was a setting for this. If you've checked both the app and the dashboard and found nothing there are apps at the PS that will control your screen time out. My only concern would that KM may appear to be active, thus why it is able to keep the screen on when there is no activity, and another app won't recognize a timeout condition.

I know this an old thread, but I believe there is some confusion between the samsung kids mode and a parental mode. I am looking looking for a fix or solution as to why the screen does not timeout in samsung kids mode. There are no options in the samsung kids app regarding to timeout only in the regular settings app.
