Hello!

I'm on the elderly side with a memory which isn't always what it was and so I would be really grateful if someone could please help me with this.

I used to have a Mode or Routine (I've now forgotten which), when on a specific date of the month I'd set it for Mobile Data to be turned off at a set time and then turned back on at another set time for the following day.

I factory reset my phone almost a month ago and over the past few days I've been trying to set the above back up again with zero success, causing just ever increasing stress and and frustration.

I've done many, many tests and although I get the active Star showing in the status bar to show it's supposedly running, Mobile Data doesn't turn off at the set time so I've now totally given up which is why I'm asking for some help.

Thanks.

It would help to know which phone you have so we can help more. Since you mention Modes/Routines, I'm guessing you have a Samsung phone. If that's the case, you should be able to just delete whatever Routine you have and create a new one with an easy to follow IF this THEN that format. You can just set the IF trigger to a date/time, and the THEN action to Mobile Data on/off. There's a search button there, too, so you don't have to scroll through all the available actions.

Bear in mind that only the 'native' Assistants and Mode/Routines can alter hardware and system level functions. For instance, on a Samsung phone, you can't use Google Assistant/Gemini to automatically turn mobile data on/off, but you can do it with Bixby or the phone's own Routines.

Thanks for the reply.

I was going to come back earlier to say I eventually figured it out (hopefully!) but I had to go out.

As per the title, it's Samsung and it was just this one thing which I needed to get sorted after many days of frustration. As for any assistants or AI they're all disabled as I have zero need for them.

Which Samsung model , I can put in the appropriate Forum in case someone searches for this?

Thought I'd included it but it's an A36.

I noticed I'd raised the same query about a year ago and then - as now - I eventually figured it out. I have zero use for any of these features except for this so I have no muscle memory!
