Samsung must have amnesia.

Just because it works doesn't mean you should use it and yes they had fast charging but not with the adapter that was supplied. That's always been the running joke with apple never use the crappy 5w adapter that comes in the box. Guess apple caught on to it and figured to just not include it in the box anymore lol. Really a shame because they finally started giving a fast charger last year with the pros.

It works and in terms of battery health, it's probably better to use a slower charger that won't heat up the device as much.

Another reason why Apple's e-waste claims is bs. When even their old fast power adapters won't give full power to their new mag safe gimmick unless you buy their NEW 20w adapter. What a joke.

That's 2 separate issues though. MagSafe isn't a required accessory. I don't have a problem with MagSafe requiring a brick that needs 20W sold separately.

I do have a bit of a problem with Apple not including bricks on the 12's though. I'm not against their decision in the long run. I just think they did it a year early. Being that only the 11 Pro last year shipped with a usb-c brick, not many iPhone users are already gonna have them laying around. I get the idea though. The boxes are half the size of past boxes so that means they can basically ship twice as many iPhones as before saving tons of space on planes, trucks, ships, etc. That's gonna make a big difference in fuel and shipping. The e-waste thing isn't gonna come into play right away, because many folks are gonna buy the brick they need in order to get fast charging. If they would've gone one more year including the brick I don't think it'd be as big a deal. Also, they shoulda dumped that crappy EarPods years ago. They're god awful anyway.

Frankly, I'd be okay if they didn't include a charger. I primarily use wireless charging on my phones and for other devices, I tend to use multiport usb chargers to declutter. Having a power strip fully of various USB chargers is just messy. I also use power strips with USB ports in some parts of the house and at work to allow me to plug both cords and USB powered devices without needing individual USB chargers to be plugged in. The only downside to this is that such multi-port chargers and powerstrips usually don't get higher powered variants right away or don't support all outputs. This is particularly a problem with USB-C PD. But for most charging scenarios, this works well enough.
