Samsung Note 4 contact sync issues, how can I get them all to sync?

Samsung Note 4 contact sync issues

I have a Samsung Note 4. I have it linked to my Gmail account. I keep syncing my contacts to my Gmail account. Only 45 of the 250 contacts will sync to my Gmail account. When I go to google I can only see the 45 contacts. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get all of my contacts to sync?

Well, I had a similar problem on my S5 running CyanogenMod nightlies. What turned out to be the problem was that the way the contacts, etc are handled has changed.

They were listed in Accounts as Contacts.

I removed my Google account, rebooted and re-added it and now the contacts are rolled up into People Details and sync works perfectly.

I guess Google changed the way they are handled in later versions of Android.
