Samsung Note 5 - Top left of screen unresponsive (intermittent)

[AC Question]

The top left corner of my Note 5 is intermittently unresponsive. I have no idea what is causing this problem. This is what Samsung have done so far, but I still have the problem.

1. software update
2. replacement screen and main board
3. software update
4. Replacement handset

But I still have the problem in the exact same place as before.

Please help

There are several reports about this same problem. It seems the problem is Touchwiz itself and some members managed to fix it using a custom launcher like Nova. Take a look at this thread.

Getting this issue as well.

Intermittent, doesn't appear to be caused by a user-action. Possibly caused by notification? Change of font/screen size? Those are the only settings I've messed with that coincides with this option breaking.

The screen actually detects the touch (tested with S-pen, etc). It just doesn't appear to register the "click", which is unfortunate since a ton of apps actually have the menu/back functions in that exact spot.

Found another post somewhere that uninstalling messenger fixes this issue. I was dubious but it did resolve the problem immediately. I hope that helps.

I never had this issue until I installed messenger. I didn't realize that messenger was causing the problem, but as soon as I uninstalled messenger, the issue went away immediately without a restart.

I disabled messenger (wouldn't let me uninstall) and that also worked immediately for me. Glad I don't use messenger very much, but this fix certainly stinks if you use the app frequently.

Facebook Messenger. The problem seems related to the chat heads in this app.

Thank you. I've had the same problem with my LG G3, which I thought was a hardware problem so I bought a Galaxy S6. It also had the same exact problem, although the G3 would still not work after restart and is completely random when the corner wants to work. My S6 on the other hand works after a restart. I tried to close apps one by one using the multitask touch button with no success, so next time I'll try to force close apps one by one to see which one is the culprit. I have the AT&T variant of both phones, and my friend says her S6 from Sprint never had this problem.
