I got the dock in today after I ordered it from the Samsung site with the 50% coupon.

I had the iBolt dock for my S3 and was wondering how this would compare.

First off the build quality is excellent. The Rubber back and holster pieces are an excellent sticky rubber.

Even the suction cup is very soft and sticky. I was able to lock it on to my wood desk so tight it wouldn't pull off.

My only concern is that it wouldn't fit my Note 2 with a case. Not a problem. The Tpu hybrid case I made fits without a problem which makes me think everything with the possible exception of the Otterbox case will be the same

Big surprise to me at least that it came with the car charger. I don't ever remember it stating that on the website. That alone is worth about $15 online. I paid a total of $25 for the kit, but you can also get it on Amazon for about $33.00

Overall I'm very happy with the purchase. I always like to purchase OeM products for that reason. Hope this helped a few of you.

I believe that is the car dock you purchased. I saw a review of it on YouTube, and thought it was a nice product.

Thanks for the pictures and review. It's been very helpful.

I just got the same dock. Only thing is mine fits perfectly WITH my flip case.

Whats strange is Samsung says this isn't compatible with the Note 2.

Samsung Galaxy Universal Vehicle Navigation Mount

"**Compatible with Samsung smartphones with screen sizes between 4.0 and 5.3 in. **" which is why I skipped over it.

With most phones you could use this dock in portrait or landscape pretty easily. However, the N2 might try to jump out in landscape. With that being said, I used it in LS with no issues (sitting still). And, if I were to use it in LS while driving, I would probably just plug in the charger and make sure my charging cord was "pulling" the phone towards the "base" of the dock just to give it a slight bit extra security from falling out. In portrait mode you will face no issues.

I know, I saw that. But they sell this dock specifically for the Note 2 on the Samsung website if you go to Note 2 > accessories. That's what reassured me

This case came with your dock?

No. I made the case from a cruzerlite tpu case and the Samsung oem flip cover case

This fits with the tpu case, the flip case... And the custom modded case I made which is a Combination of the two

I ordered this on Wednesday.... and got it on Saturday. A whole lot better than the 5 to 10 business days I was quoted.

You have to remember though that the Galaxy Note was the only one samsung made with a 5.3" screen. The Note 2 is skinnier than the original Note. It should have no problems fitting at all.

FormerIphoney, your modded case is cool! How did you make it?

what do you do with the flip case in the dock? fold it behind then mount it? or do you leave the flip closed, covering the screen, just using the dock to securely hold it?

My Samsung Universal Car Dock arrived yesterday and my Note II with a Seidio Surface case has no problems fitting into the dock. The biggest gripe I usually have with universal docks is that the phone usually bounces around when driving on bumpy roads. Fortunately, this dock doesn't have that problem at all. :)
