Samsung Pass login prompts

When using the Samsung Internet browser on my S20 (and all previous phones), on websites where I have already saved my login credentials in Samsung Pass I would get a pop up with the 'login with fingerprint' option as soon as a website's login page had loaded and it would autocomplete my username and password. However, for the past few weeks when login pages load I don't get the 'login with fingerprint' pop up... it will only appear after I've entered my username, and then it fills in the password.

Can't find any settings to control this, but it's annoying because now I've got remember what the username is before Samsung Pass pops up to complete the login.

Any ideas how to fix this, or is this the same for everyone now?

Yeah. I have also had this issue with Samsung Pass. Dunno why. I use Samsung Keyboard which has access to Samsung Pass when you press the 3 dot menu on the suggestion bar. I usually open it from there, go to sign-in and search for the website and insert the data that way. It is a nuisance but means you don't have to remember the username. I also use bitwarden to save my passwords.

Check in settings that autofill settings is set to Samsung Pass.

If its not working on Wi-Fi , try Mobile data only

Can't see why this would cause the problem but checked on wifi and on mobile data only... same problem.

Thanks - tried turning off all autofill settings and turning them back on again, making sure that Samsung Pass is selected, but still no prompt from Samsung Pass to autocomplete username.

Have just noticed that if I tap on a website's username box then I get a list a usernames - sometimes it only displays the username for the site I'm trying to log into, and sometimes it offers multiple usernames and I have to pick the correct one. Helps a bit but still not ideal.

Seems like Samsung Pass has lost the ability to offer the relevant username and password based on the website's address alone, leaving it only able to offer passwords when it knows both the website AND username.

I agree with you. It has been happening to me since the A11 beta so I think it is a One UI 3.0 issue. Maybe it will be ironed out with the 3.1 update in a couple of weeks.

I can't be sure, but now you've mentioned it, I think it started for me roughly around the time of the One UI 3.0 update too.

Fingers crossed they sort it out soon.

They had issues in past on wifi and mobile data it would go through, go to apps>Samsung pass >tap and go to storage and clear data and force stop then recheck

Thanks. Cleared data etc, Samsung Pass re-sync all credentials but still no luck - only prompts for biometrics after typing username.

Didn't work either. Also tried removing Samsung Pass app completely and reinstalling.... still the same, no prompt without entering username first.

Now it's time for me to go and recreate all of my home screen bookmarks that disappeared after clearing Samsung Internet's app data!
