Samsung pay officially released!!

Chip based cards are supported by Samsung pay. No need to insert the card at all. If it does not work then you should report it to samsung.

I've been able to use that exact card (only one I have that works with Samsung Pay right now) at other stores without issue, just not at Walmart. I don't know that the stores where it worked had the chip reader or not... I think they didn't

When did the update come out? I opened the Samsung pay app just now and it wants me to update.

After update noticed I can use PIN or fingerprint.

Having issues using it at walmart now, was working before. The message is declined wrong card used. I selected debit , then tried credit . Both did not work, sad I had to pull the card out.

As I don't carry my wallet no longer if that happen to me I would have to walk out the store with no goods

actually it does have the neccesary hardware according to Loop Pay, who is the creator of the MST technology. Google Loop Pay's website and in their FAQ it has a list of compatible phones and Samsung goes all the way back to the S3. I'd post the link but I only have 5 posts.

This directed to the person who said S5 doesn't have the MST coil

Samsung pay works well even at Walmart where they read the chip. Samsung pay has all the emv enabled tech to work with chip cards.

Pretty sure that compatibility list is referring to the phones that work if you buy the additional LoopPay hardware which is a case that adds the capability of MST.

I purchased an unlocked unbranded Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge recently. While I have installed Android Pay, Samsung Pay does not seem to be available. I activated the phone to my AT&T account at an AT&T store. Is it or will it ever be possible to ever install Samsung Pay?

They haven't enabled it on the unlocked models yet unfortunately. I don't remember seeing an exact date.

I have a really minor question that is definitely not worth starting a whole new thread over, but thought this might be the best place to piggyback it: anyone know what the N in the orange circle that shows up on the app means?

Thanks in advance!

That means there's a "new" version of the app available. An update

So I called Samsung pay customer service, they confirmed that they are working on the Walmart terminal issue. Seems their { walmart} updated some security software. Also now cannot get it to work at Target which it did work before. The other day it was declined at a gas station as well (inside) , my confidence is weakened now.

IT IS TRUE. SAMSUNG PAY NOW HAS CHASE ON BOARD!!!! Go Look at the Google Play Store update for Samsung Pay!! OH I'm So Excited.
