Thanks for the quick reply. That's a shame that the Uber app wasn't preloaded. I couldn't believe it when I read somewhere that Uber has a separate app for non-Samsung phones! Anyway, I had originally bought the S3 from Best Buy here when it was scarce and $70 off but returned it after a few days because of those missing apps. I was thinking of getting it from B&H since I saw your post because it is a nice watch but I'll wait to see the LG Sport in person and also how soon Android Pay comes here.

Yeah i tried looking for the sms option but i dont see ot anywhere all i see is by email or call bank and when i chose email it keeps sending me sorry for inconvenience etc.. i wish i could find that sms option because i really dont like talking to cibc costumer service because they're rude. But anyway I'll try to do it all again when i find some time. Thanks for the reply!
I recommend you buying from b&hphoto if you're ever buying one they got great costumer service and really fast shipping

I beleive your cell number has to be in your cibc account for your to get the sms option.
Did you ever use the cibc Mobile payments app on your phone? They send an sms verification for that on their end, so they ask for your cell number and add it to the card when you call to set that up.. Maybe go that route even if you don't end up using the app. Then when it's setup try to do the watch setup again.

Yeah i have it and i use it. I checked i have my cell number under the home phone and cell phone blank does it matter where my phone number is on? Because i tried changing it and its asking me for 4 digit number and getting a text saying "Please enter this PIN in CIBC Online Banking to register for CIBC Alerts: ####". This is really confusing. I guess I'll have to phone cibc to get this thing sorted out
Try logging in the online banking site using your credit card and seeing if you can add your cell phone# there.
You're so close man. Just enter the pin from the text into online banking and you're set.
Oh man i finally got it to work what a pain in the butt lol. Thanks a lot much appreciated! I guess now you know 2 other people that uses samsung pay on gear s3 haha. Once again thanks for your time and help

I have a question guys. Did you pay any duties or taxes from b&h? I bought the one from best buy as well and been waiting so long for the update. Im thinking of selling it and buying the one from b&h so i could have the tap. Thank in advance

Just wanted to know if any Canadian Gear S3 users ever got his working? I'm a Canadian user with an S7 edge and I just sold my Canadian Gear S3 for the American version since I really wanted SPay on my watch.
Samsung Pay was strangely missing out of the box for me on the American Gear S3 but when I opened the Gear Manager Android app and went to Settings, there was a Samsung Pay icon. Tapping it then said, "Installing Samsung Pay", and it downloaded the following new Samsung Pay for Gear apk:
Samsung Pay for Gear 1.2.5202 APK Download by Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. - APKMirror
I'd suggest trying the above apk. No clue why Samsung Pay wasn't in the watch OS out of the box.
I'm also curious to know if Canadian Gear S3 users can now use Samsung Pay in their watches with the above Apk? I believe it installs the corresponding Gear app. You also have to add your credit cards again in that app. It's different from the regular Android Samsung Pay phone app.

This does not install the gear watch version, it only installs into the Gear App on the phone. The watch version is already on the phone but isnt enabled without a mod to an XML file on the watch.

I've tried the watch at several stores now and the credit card terminal keeps saying transaction error or error with card. Wondering if you did anything besides just loading the card into the Gear S - Samsung Pay app? For ZIP code, I used the 3 digits in my postal code, followed by 00. In the Samsung Pay Android app for the watch, I left my billing address blank in the Settings menu. I'm wondering if you've filled this out?
I just tried the watch again today for a payment and again it failed. I tried my S7 edge immediately after and it worked right away :/
