Samsung Pay On US Gear S3 and US Unlocked S8+ Not working

Hey Everyone

I have an S3 Frontier and US Unlocked s8+ both from Best Buy and have been at my wits end trying to get Samsung Pay to work on the damn watch. It works fine on the phone.

However, when I try to set Pay up to work on the watch, it keeps telling me to sign into Samsung Lay on the phone. When I go to the Gear app under settings, Samsung Pay is nowhere to be found. I've been reading the forums and it seems there are issues with international versions not working with other regions. However in my case, both devices are US.

Did Samsung leave out Samsung Pay out for S3 users with the unlocked phones? This is really frustrating!

I a bit confused here, but the SP is found in Info not settings on the gear app, I have a unlocked S7 with the gear S3 and it works perfectly, I'm sure there is sothing simple your overlooking here
Hopefully you have installed this app from the play store

Don't bother trying to set up Pay on your S3. After the FOURTH time having to reload my cards on the Gear Pay, I just gave up. It's a gimmick that doesn't work and is more trouble than it's worth.

I should clarify...it works when the cards aren't spontaneously removed.

I've had no problems (using an LG or cheap Samsung phone) with S Pay. It's my favorite feature on the S3. I almost never use cash, so I typically have 100+ transactions per month. It works 95% of the time, I rarely need to use a physical card. No other watch has this capability.

I found that this solution works, from the XDA Forums.

I was able to get Samsung Pay partially working on the watch
I downloaded Samsung Pay For Gear Plug In
Installed and opened app
Watch Samsung Pay launches on phone and trys to install a update but fails
On the watch side when holding back button to launch Samsung Pay says A new version avalible Samsung Pay must be updated to continue
Then says update in progress on phone but there's no update happening..
I'm still trying a few things to see if I can get it to work

Edit: I got spay for gears3 to work
Step1: Download/install but don't open this app

Step3: Launch Samsung Pay on Watch
Follow the instructions it will then update Samsung Pay for Gear and install successfully
Step4: Launch Samsung Pay on Watch it should ask you to setup your cards
Step5: Uninstall Samsung Pay (not the gear version)
Then reinstall from play store and update
Profit!!!!

Note I did this on a fresh install on both the watch and phone
Also I set phone up via LTE and not WiFi because you need to tell phone to not install samsung pay when that option comes up during setup...

And make sure you turn off Wifi and not to update during initial setup!!!
