Samsung pay or android pay

And many on here have agreed on the subject that for Europe -- it is the same as Android/Google pay. Hence why most are talking about the US for the "superior" aspect of Samsung Pay. Not sure why you seem to keep missing that.

I'm not missing that point but there are a lot of posts simply claiming "Samsung Pay is superior" how about qualifying that with a statement as to why the poster thinks it's superior?

Well as I stated many times in previous posts .. Most people posting here are in the US so many just assume we are all talking US. That is a normal assumption on the board -- while not always proper since we do have people from all over the majority of posts are US based.

I even explained why the US people think it is superior and why it is more useful in the US versus the UK. Not sure what else I can say to you to get you to see why they say that then what I have already posted / said.

I think he only read the first page lol....

If the amount is over £30 then yes, you do need to unlock the phone as that is the additional authorisation. Again this probably highlights how the banks operate in America vs. Europe.
So you could steal someone's phone and go on a shopping spree of $20 transactions???

If that is how it works personally I'd be trying to get them to change that. Sounds like a recipe for disaster.

um nope, i have to unlock it for any apay purchase. I mean otherwise there is zero security, which makes no sense.

I never understand the whole "Samsung Pay is superior" posts that have no qualification, many of you forget that Samsung Pay is only as functional as Google Pay in Europe so it's in no way superior but it's also nowhere near inferior to Google Pay, they both do the same thing which is allow you to pay for products via contactless methods. How it does it, the method by which it does it and how long each one takes is irrelevant.

+1001 I agree with you Neo... but do believe Samsung Pay is Superior but ONLY in the US and its due to circumstances not app quality.

To be honest.. This is how Google (Android) Pay is on my phone (Pixel 2 XL) as well in the US. I have to unlock the phone via fingerprint before it will allow a transaction to occur.

You can turn off the tab on the bottom- I don't mind it on my home screen but did turn it off the AOD & security screens cause I'd accidentally swipe it sometimes

How do I do that?. I uinstalled Samsung Pay because it stopped wireless charging and that nuisance on the bottom. Where I live most retailers have now gone to NFC terminals.

Samsung pay is better because it work in places that don't support nfc. But I've been reading how some stores are disabling google pay/Samsung pay in favor all but their own payment systems. I've read people having trouble using Samsung pay in certain stores.

Samsung pay all day... Accepted everywhere esp. in US due to MST. Can earn points and possibly win prizes. Now that Paypay is FINALLY out of beta and can be used I have no use for Android Pay.

I'm waiting for either GP or SP to allow paypal in Canada as all my banks/cards aren't allowed.

Its in the SPay settings under "Use Favourite Cards"

Go to》Samsung Pay Home screen》Click the 3 dots on the top right corner》Settings》

(Then there are 2 ways to remove the bottom swipe)

First - If you just want it gone》Go to Manage Favorite Cards & deselect all including membership and gift cards (it'll prompt you that at least one must be selected but you can deselect all of them without issue - Then the swipe buttons on the bottom will be gone from all screens...

Second - go to》Use Favorite Cards Then deselect all screens you don't want it on. This way you still have your fav cards or the one most used checked but you can choose which screen to have the button swipe on. I disabled the Lock and AOD screen and only use it on my home screen. This makes it take a few seconds longer since you must log in to access your home screen instead of opening it directly from the AOD screen but I kept swiping it accidentally on both the lock and AOD screens opening SPay and it got annoying! I don't mind it on my home screen and rarely open it when don't want too(if you uncheck all screens you can only access Spay with its app icon) For me Its much easier than having to go into my app drawer or my financial folder to click the app, find the card I want to use then unlock it when I can just swipe, unlock and pay.

IDK why Samsung pay would affect wireless charging? I haven't had an issue with it and this is the first time hearing about it - are you sure its related to SPay? Are you using a thick case or one with a magnet?

Hope this helps if you decide to reinstall...

That sucks... Hopefully it'll be soon but it took Samsung over 6 months from saying it was accepting PayPal to just getting it into Beta - I signed up for that so I could utilize it. Now the beta program is full and I still don't think it's been rolled out in the latest update yet!!!

GPay doesn't allow PayPal for my neighbors up north??? That's crazy as well!

I tried to use Samsung Pay but it doesn't support all my cards. Google Pay is supported by all my cards, even though it doesn't support MST, I ended up using Google Pay.

Also, apparently Samsung Pay app for US is different from Samsung app for Canada. The stock OS I installed recently comes with US version and I can't even try adding new cards anymore because it requires zip code instead of postal code when adding cards.

MST sounds really interesting but like Sammy's phones, Samsung Pay comes with great hardware plus sub par software for me.

Just tried it on a sub £30 transaction, no need to unlock the phone or use a fingerprint. Most banks in the UK will refund a transaction if it was done fraudulently anyway.

I can definitely say that isn't the case in the US. My phone won't do a transaction with Google (Android) Pay without authenticating first. TBH .. I prefer it that way. God forbid I lose my phone I wouldn't want someone to walk around and be able to purchase stuff.
