Samsung Pay Promotion (Note 7 - $20 for using)

I got a chance to use Samsung Pay earlier today. Got the promotional email before I even got out the door.

I asked a friend with a S7 to send me her referral code. We both get $5

I get this every time. I got the message for it almost immediately after my first purchase. But tried to redeem it, got whats in the pic. I'm going to have to call them.

I tried it at Walmart at lunch and it wouldn't work. I thought about this earlier, but forgot to change this before I went...NFC was off.
I figured if the phone was trying to use Samsung Pay and NFC was off, it might give a warning to turn it on or say something like "NFC is currently OFF. Would you like to turn it on?". Nope. Nothing.
I guess I'll try it again at some other store this week. Has anyone tried this at a gas station?

I haven't gotten it to work either time I tried it at Walmart. I saw a user on here saying he uses it there, but I always get a card error. I tried both with and without NFC if I remember correctly.

The only other time I used Samsung Pay was last fall when I used it on my Note5 at the Walmart customer service counter to send my son a Western Union. They were saying "that doesn't work on that" and that turned into "OMG! I can't believe you just did that! What kind of phone is that?".

I used it a lot on my Note 5. I used it today for the first time with my Note 7. Got the free 20.00 card as well Wooooohoooo!!

I got this too and called them earlier today. They said they'll have to do it manually and it could take 24-72 hours for me to hear back from them.

I used it today for the first time on my Note 7. I had used it on my Note 5 and S7 Edge and it was always fun when someone would tell me that they "don't take Apple Pay" .

I will be at Walmart this week and I am going to try it. I used to use Android Pay but it only works at so many different retailers. If I can't get it to work at the Walmart register I will go buy an ice cream at the McDonald's inside Walmart. It should at least work there.

The first time you use Samsung Pay on your Note 7 you'll automatically get it. Had to be done by August 31 I believe.

Yes, I will be there today when it is not too busy. I think the key with Samsung Pay is to place the phone close to the strip and not where the phone is placed for Android Pay.
