MST on the watch itself is the only reason I'm considering getting a S3.... Love my S2 classic platinum but the limitation of NFC only is a downer.... I find Samsung pay on the watch, quicker than pulling out my phoneI have a Gear S2. The Samsung Pay Beta app works independently of the Galaxy's Samsung Pay. It would appear that you can have MST and NFC payments directly from the S3 using a non galaxy phone.
I only wish you had to enter your pin when opening the app instead of everytime you put your watch back on.MST on the watch itself is the only reason I'm considering getting a S3.... I prefer having to enter a pin everytime I put my watch back on.... If my watch is ever lost for some odd reason, at least I know that nobody can use it....I only wish you had to enter your pin when opening the app instead of everytime you put your watch back on.

This. I did an online chat with samsung just today and asked about this because I am getting a Pixel and wanted to know. He said the watch can be used for samsung pay without owning a samsung phone
No website article is going to settle this matter. When someone reports their first hand experience, then we'll know definitively.
It's coming via the Gear App in a few weeks.Haven't confirmed yet. The S3 is paired to my v20 but I haven't found options for Samsung Pay yet.
