The day after I bought my Samsung Note 2 I went to online to shop for a case. I wanted something that would add some protection from bumps and minor drops but didnt add tons of bulk. I used my 50% Samsung code on Samsung's website and picked up the Protective Back Cover. I have been nothing short of thrilled with this. Adds minimal bulk, is light weight, flexible (easy to take on and off), fits in most car dock mounts, and gives the Note 2 a great layer of protection. It also gives it a great grip in your hand (as we all know the phone with no cover is pretty slick!)

I have dropped the phone 2 times on the back of the cover and not even a mark on the case. The first drop was from my desk to the wood floors and the second was from my pocket onto tile. They were very minor drops but it did it's job.

Could I justify paying $30 for this case? Umm no. The 50% off code sold me on it and hey it was worth a try. Now I am sure you could find similar cases OR even this exact case on Amazon or Ebay for MUCH less but when I bought the phone they were not on there so I had to buy it from Samsung.

I am very pleased with this case and I can honestly say it is well worth whatever money you pay for it.

Re: Samsung Protective Cover + Mini Review

It looks like the edge around the cover is a rubber material, is that right? I like how it goes all the way around and protects the corners.

Re: Samsung Protective Cover + Mini Review

I decided to get this using the 50% of coupon as well, despite very few reviews (most I found were on the flip cover). I figure this plus a screen protector gives the same minimal bulk plus better drop protection than the flip case.

Re: Samsung Protective Cover + Mini Review

I wish Samsung would combine this case with a simple screen flap. It would be perfect for my needs.

It is a hard rubber material. It definitely protects from dings and scratches!

Re: Samsung Protective Cover + Mini Review

Does the rubber wrap around the front enough so that when face down the rubber lifts the screen off the table?

Sure does!

One thing I just noticed with this case: I can't plug in my Shure earbuds. The L shaped plug does not make it all the way in the headphone jack with the case on. :/

With straight and maybe thinner L shaped plugs, there shouldn't be an issue.

Im deciding between this and the cruzelight case. Hmm

Does anyone else have the casemate POP case? I find it to be a bit bulky

Just cut the case with a razor.
