Samsung puts a 4000 battery into s8 Active

Re: Samsung puts a 4000 battery into s7active

Probably because they didn't have room. Regardless, they didn't, so I see little value in kicking it around.

They could have as much room as they want. They are the ones designing the phone.

Re: Samsung puts a 4000 battery into s7active

because they didn't want to. Following the Note 7, it was just not going to happen.

Re: Samsung puts a 4000 battery into s7active

It could happen... As no one for sure knows yet... At the moment the 3200 is a rumor not a statement by Samsung

Re: Samsung puts a 4000 battery into s7active

So why not the note 8?

You should have said the S8 Active (not S7) - that would have made more sense! The phone bodies then WOULD be very much the same thickness and shouldn't be an issue. There IS evidence that the S8 Active WILL have a 4000mAh battery!!! Picture from a Beta Tester...

With a removable battery and back the Note could offer the option of an even larger battery.

But that would be contrary to the replicate Apple game plan.

Removable back makes the phone thicker than a sealed back with the same capacity. Would also ruin the water resistance that many people enjoy.

You want a thin phone. I prefer a larger battery. Also you can have thinner models than can accept a bigger battery with a modified back. It's been done before.

I'm not convinced that water resistance demands a sealed battery. But we'll probably never know.

Wrong, the S5 was water resistant and had a removable battery.

Ooops sorry I meant the S8 active... Can't seem to edit the header

Yeah, we are. Because it was the best feature the Note line had. You can accept a crippled phone. Doesn't mean the rest of us have to.

But you kinda do have to. lol

I'm totally on board with bigger batteries. I see no benefit whatsoever to removable batteries in 2017...zero.

Other than yet another accessory to spend money on imo.

And I thought it was the Pen. To me, that is really the only feature that makes it unique. There were other phones with removable batteries. Personally, I'd prefer a bigger battery to a removable one, but sadly we got neither.

If I had my way, I'd take the S8+, make it a little wider for the pen, a little thicker for more battery, and DONE. :-)

Bingo!

I don't think I'm going to get a Note 8 because it's going to have a smaller battery than the S8+ with the same size screen. That's pretty much a deal-breaker.
