Samsung Removing Gesture Options

Swipe in from the left corner for Google Assistant on gestures.
I know, I'm talking about buttons (which I don't use).

As far as I know when using buttons you call circle to search by pressing and holding the home button, but you also summon regular ol' Assistant by pressing and holding the home button.

So do I. I don't use it.
I actually do use it, but I'd rather summon it with a button than say "hey, Google"" and have either 6 of my own devices or 6 other people's phone's respond at the same time. Or someone else saying it and having my phone respond... I do keep "hi, Bixby" turned on though, Don't have to worry about anyone else triggering that lol.

Well well.. Reading thru this forum, some like getting Google assistant by saying hey Google, some like pushing a button.. some like the navigation gestures some don't. Let the user decide how they want to set it up, as we see we all have different preferences

If this move is because of the circle search, there's ways to activate that without taking away the navigation gestures. Make that the side gesture, long press the area and have circle search a option. I'm using navigation gestures and you can long press the center gesture and get Google assistant, let the user decide which one they want to use. It's crazy to take something away when there are ways to do it without removing a option.

Choices have always been the Android benefit, but lately Google and Samsung have been concentrating on removing choices.

I can only hope the rumors or hope that good lock will have the option for navigation gestures come to light.

Yeah, pretty sure that's the reason. If you got used to the Samsung gestures it shouldn't be difficult to adapt to the Google ones. They are easier to use with one hand, but not very intuitive.

I'm wondering how button users will summon the regular assistant. As far as I know, that's the same long press of the home button.
I use voice activation.. but can't you access the assistant through the mic button on the search bar if you're using one? You can also use the side button to activate it... and a double tap on the back of pixels will activate it as well, maybe even Samsungs, I don't remember at the moment.

Isn't the search bar only on the home screen? I don't use one. Yeah, you can change the side button and yeah you can get back tap detection through Goodlock. I think my point has been missed, though, which is normal people who are still using buttons... I'm not looking for a workaround for myself, I'm wondering for people who are still using buttons and don't know goodlock exists, let alone how to install and use it.

So as many of you know there is a new gesture layout on the S24 Ultra (I assume the S24 &S24+ also)
The standard Samsung layout was to swipe up from the bottom left, bottom right and the bottom center (for home button)
Now it has changed to swipe up from bottom center to close app, swipe up from bottom center and hold to see open apps and swipe from right edge of screen to left to go back, you can also enable swiping from the bottom corner to open assistant.

I'm slowly getting to grips with this setup but it does feel strange to start with. I know many people use the virtual buttons but for those using gestures let me know your thoughts.

Are you able to hide that bar at the bottom? I've been reading you cannot. I really don't want to have to look at that thing

Not as far as I know, I was thinking it was the Samsung Pay button to start with until I disabled it.

I think in settings search for Gestures and they might have a setting.

It does sound like it might be the Samsung Pay prompt.
