Samsung S3 mini water accidents

The speaker and the sim part of my Samsung s3 mini got soaked in water by accident. Now there is a problem with the headset and speaker connections.The phone just assumes to be connected to the headset every 5 minutes - it starts blinking and connects to it automatically even when it's not . I couldn't hear any audio or calls properly because of it .So i disabled headphones . Now i can make calls and listen to audio over the phone speaker .Is it worth giving for servicing ,as the replacement of motherboard is almost the phone's cost ? Will there be any more problems for my phone ?
or what exactly is the problem with it ?

The down side to water damage is something else may come up later on. I would look at filing a claim or if you can use an upgrade.
