AC Question

My S4 is about 2 years old, has always held a decent charge. The other night i plugged it in to charge and in the morning the phone would not turn on. I thought that i just didn't plug it in correctly, so i replugged. After hours of being plugged in correctly - nothing. I attempted all the button combinations for attempting to start in safe mode and what ever other modes possible - nothing. I would get a flash of the samsung logo for less than a second.

My brother has the same phone and actually had a spare one with a 40% charged battery, so we put it in my phone --it turned on!!! But with in a minute or less that 40% charge dropped to 6% and then turned off.

It generally charges pretty quick with the real samsung charger, generally with in a 1/2 hour it is up quite a bit. So far after being left turned off and charging i might get 8%.

With the minute of power i have i got into the battery usage and nothing seemed to be a huge usage of power - i had to look quick but the highest was 10-12%. Each time i am going to try and delete some apps (amazon Facebook) which might be draining.

What other steps should i try? or is this one a total loss. I'd rather not have to get a new phone but this one might not have any life left.

A battery 2 years old has worked beyond it's expected life. If the other battery was about the same age it might be time for some new batteries.
