Samsung S4 doesn't hold Eastern Standard Time as a time zone

All of my apps (e.g. Instagram, Snapchat) work off of the time zone installed on my phone, but it's currently set to Newfoundland Daylight Time or something. I'm based in Toronto, ON - why is there no Eastern Standard Time option? I know this question gets asked quite a lot, but so far I still don't have a direct answer as to how to get EST.

Time zone come from the sim card you insert in the phone and automatically gets updated.

Thank you for your help. Do you know what I can do if I don't plan on adding in a SIM until a month or so later? Will I just have to deal with it until then?

Your welcome, good question , I believe it will estimate from your location when WiFi is available .

I moved this from the HTC One M7 forum (not sure why it was there) to the Galaxy S4 forum.

Instead of searching for Eastern Standard Time, what if you look for New York City? Is that listed?
