Help please. I am in australia and have just purchased from hong kong a brand new verison unlocked phone. Ha ha now I,ve read this forum apparently it aint so. The reason I chose it was a good camera , the lte 700 mhz is compatable and the price reasonable.
I have tried putting in the APN,s as per this forum but when I get to---access point names--- and hit menu, instead of getting a menu with --- add new access point --- all I get is --- default to factory settings ---
I have local sim and get voice and sms as per usual.

Any suggestions

Welcome to Android Central! Can you be more specific when you say it ain't so? Do you mean it isn't brand new, it isn't locked, or it isn't a genuine Samsung phone?

The SCH-i545 is the Verizon-specific S4, which means it's CDMA/GSM. Its GSM band compatibility might be limited--which carrier are you trying to add it to? From what I can tell, the phone is compatible with LTE bands 4 and 13. 13 is 700 MHz, but there are a few bands corresponding to 700 MHz, so it's important to know exactly which band your carrier uses.

Thanks B.Diddy for replying. It,s funny how you scribble something down and it makes sense to you but not others. The phone is brand new. I will go into band compatability later but at the moment I have voice sms and mms but no internet. I can,t add a new access point name. Someone on the forum said create a new apn by going to.......access point names. Hit menu key and select " add new access point" when I hit menu the only option is " default to factory"
I have my local carrier,s settings document. I followed them for mms and it works.If I then try to do the internet settings I have to overwrite the mms settings because I can,t select... add new access name.
Have I missunderstood something. I have had internet but then no mms
