samsung s5 notifications when screen on

Samsung s5 how do I stop whatsapp message preview pop up when my screen is on. The pop up is off on whatsapp but not on the phone if I switch it off I dnt receive the notification icon at all. Is there anyway of doing this? It was fine before the phone updated please help

Try a Cache Partition wipe, good practice after an update.

Tried this but no luck why would anyone want the whole message revived on whatsapp popping up when you doing something on the phone. Really disappointed with this update
