Samsung S6 Edge Not Working After Receiving Text after Falling in Water

Hey Everyone.
So My S6 Edge fell into the sink, but I got It out within 3-5 seconds.
I dried it off fully, and it continued to work without an issue.
Then, 2 hours later I received a text, and now the phone is not starting.
I have now placed it into rice, and will leave it there for around 24 hours.
I removed the Sim Card before putting it into the rice, and it is black at a spot and looks burnt. Underneath the gold plating is gone, and there is just plastic showing.
Has receiving a text while there was still residual water on the Sim Card short circuited my device?
What should I do?

Hi, sorry this happened!

And yes, if the radio had water on it still, this could have shorted the board, I'm pretty close to 100%, that's what occurred. I'm afraid that if it doesn't work properly after second rice method, then you'll need to send it in for repairs.

Oh no!
Would you happen to know how much a repair would cost, or could I use warranty as it is only a 1 month old phone?

I don't think a warranty covers water damage.
