Samsung s7 crashes using any app

Samsung s7 when detached from charger crashes when using any app, but doesn't crash when plugged to charger. Tried a factory reset, no help there. Can't afford a new one , any suggestions to help me fix it would be appreciated. Thank you.

My son is going back to school Saturday so I really need to fix this, i worry about him being so far away without a phone.

Sounds like a bad battery. Charge it to 90%, unplug it and wait about 15 minutes. Is it still 90% or 89%? Or has it dripped appreciably? If it can't hold up for at least an hour with the screen off with no drop in battery (maybe 1%), the battery is bad.

Discharging the battery below 40% can cause that. Discharging it to 0% every time can kill it in a month. (Lithium batteries are not deep discharge batteries.)
