Hello All -

After about a year and a half, my Samsung S7 Edge ran into the same problem with the pink vertical line running down the display on the side of the screen.
After some research online, I found out Samsung officially recognized the pink/magenta line down the screen on the S7 Edge, so many people were in the same boat.
So I called Samsung Support and after a few typical "try this, do that" (reboot/reboot into safe mode, etc.) which I begrudgingly tried (since I knew it was Samsung's fault, not mine), the rep finally sent me pre-paid postage to send it off to get it fixed.
2 day there, 2 day back. The turn-around was ultra fast and aside from using a loaner phone for a few days, I didn't have to pay a dime.
Below is a screenshot of the email they sent explaining the problem.
I've posted this in the hope anyone else researching the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Pink / Magenta Vertical line Display Pixel Problem finds my information helpful.
Yes, tons of words which are key for online indexing. https://i.imgur.com/NEqY80L.jpg

Thanks!

Nice to hear that Samsung provided the fix even though the warranty was expired. This is so much better than the "<insert carrier/manufacturer name here> screwed me on a two-year old phone!" that we so often see here.

Hello.. I tried going through their support line, but they told me that since it is out of warranty they will charge for the screen replacement. Was this your first time calling them? Did they check your imei at all ?

My warranty was off by less than 3 weeks..

FYI, my carrier (AT&T) gave me a free replacement with a refurbished phone. Works great.

I would try again and stomp you feet with them. 3 weeks out of warranty isnt good enough for a well known issue. This pink line could potentially effect every single S7 produced.

Samsung is playing games with us for a now well documented problem.

Go into Android mode by pressing the volume up, home button and power button simultaneously. You'll get the white Android icon with a blue background screen. In my case, the screen is uniformly blue; no pink line. If the display was truly damaged (like an AMOLED column driver), wouldn't it be logical that the pink or another color line would also appear?

Samsung is hiding something here!

Last month the pink line appeared and disappeared constantly. I decided not to get it fixed because i had a phone fixed by samsung before and they messed up the ip-68 water/dust resistant lining and thus made it not ip-68 anymore. But recently the pink line came and just wouldnt go away and so i decided to call samsung to get it replaced. They said they would do it for a fee since it is out of warranty. I asked to speak to the supervisor about the fee because I paid $800 for the phone that became faulty 6 months after the 1 year warranty ended. He put me on hold for a minute and came back saying his supervisor approved a free fix.

Now that I am about to send it out, I see a user here saying he got his fixed and the problem came back again. Now I'm considering AGAIN not sending it out because I dont want them to mess up the lining of my phone for something that will eventually come back.
