Samsung s7 edge won't type and fingerprint doesn't work

Recently, I started having trouble with my s7 edge. It will not let me type anything (whether it be texting, Facebook messenger, Instagram, etc) or call anyone. Additionally, whenever I go to unlock the phone, the fingerprint scanner doesn't work unless I completely turn off the phone and whenever I swipe to clear the notifications, they will not leave the phone. I do not want to factory reset the phone as that would completely wipe all of my data on here...

I'm having the exact same problems.

Mine and my wife's S7 Edges started doing this over the weekend around the same time.. there must have been some sort of update pushed out that screwed them up. It comes and goes, but is annoying. Hopefully they fix it soon.
