Sadly, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are only outfitted with quick charge 2.0. Will samsung release the firmware to change the quick charge 2.0 to the 3.0 in future? Just like the HTC One A9.I can't post a link here now. Just read the news from Qualcomm

I hope so, although I didn't hear anything about it so far

How do you know it's only 2.0? According to the following link, it appears to be 3.0.

You can also search"Samsung unveils the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, powered by Snapdragon 820" on google and you will find the article.

Well, we can't argue with the manual or Qualcomm, so looks like my source is wrong. Thanks for clarifying, guys.

Re: Samsung S7/S7 edge don't feature Quick Charge 3.0

I wonder why Samsung decided to pass on Quick Charge 3.0? It has the same Snapdragon 820 as the LG G5 which will support 3.0. Disappointing.

What the heck is Quick Charge 3.0 anyway? How much faster does it charge than 2.0?

C'mon don't you know that anything in the tech world a bigger number is better?!?

This thing charges extremely fast with 2.0. I'm not concerned.

That's why f/4 is larger than f/2

I'm pretty sure it is 3.0, although I have no source at work right now.

Re: Samsung S7/S7 edge don't feature Quick Charge 3.0

Quick Charge 2.0 vs 3.0

Quick Charge 3.0 explained: what you need to know

For smartphones, the actual maximum amount of power available has not really changed from Quick Charge 2.0’s 18W maximum. Newer 9V models will still take the same 18W peak power as before, although lower voltage batteries may receive a power boost, allowing them to charge up a little faster than before. But this all depends on the exact hardware.

I other words, you wouldn't see that much difference between 2.0 and 3.0 anyway.

Re: Samsung S7/S7 edge don't feature Quick Charge 3.0

I expect Quick Charge 3.0 with Note 6 as it will probably has a huge battery

Re: Samsung S7/S7 edge don't feature Quick Charge 3.0

QC 3.0 is faster, but according to Samsung, the S7 Edge goes from 0 to 100% in a mere 100 minutes, so it's not really that long if you think about it, considering the size of the battery.

Still, it would have been nice.

I'm not familiar with quick charge (I use a Galaxy S4 (Sprint)).
I just pre-ordered S7.
I read here that Quick Charge requires batter charger with "Adaptive fast charging or Quick Charge 2.0)
Does this refer to the electric plug block, the USB to micro-usb cord, or both?
What about car plug chargers?

The Adaptive fast charging refers to the plug itself.
