Samsung S8 been returned, not happy.

Really been unhappy with my S8, I think I have just been unlucky.
I have a few pixels out that really stand out when using my gear VR.
There is a gap between the screen and metal surround at the top of the phone, and
there is a defect in the metal surround at the top of the back, it looks like when metal is snapped of a cast.
I have contacted Vodafone and they are replacing it for a new one. a little gutted I have to set another one up as there are so many settings on the phone.

Doesn't Samsung Backup / Restore reinstate all the settings?

Also if you have both phones in your possession, I'm pretty sure you can transfer everything from one to the other using USB directly using the dongle provided.

I'm not sure about the settings. I've not had a samsung before. I can't swap via usb unfortunately. It's a swap on my doorstep with a courier so won't have time.

Be sure to have a Samsung Cloud backup, go to Settings-Cloud And Accounts-Samsung Cloud and do a Sync plus go to Backup Settings on the same page and do a Full backup (minus SD card content, redundant and not needed).

It won't set your new phone just as you have it but Phone log, Messages and most, if not all, of Samsung stuff and settings will pass to your new phone.
