Samsung s8 black colour question

Hi,

I have a question for those that already have the black s8 or plus devices

The black " so to say bezel" is it a material that can chip or get damaged unlike the silver around the s7 edge. Just nervous the black around and bottom will scuff and show the metal or material below...

If so the orchid will then be a better option for me

My friends note s7 and note7 never scuffed and he never wears a case.

I think he means the actual sides of the phone. ie where the charging port, buttons, and Sim card are. On the orchid Grey the sides are more metallic looking so it might hide scratches better. But I keep my phone in a thin case so hopefully the black doesn't scuff or scratch.
