samsung s9+ connected to wifi but no internet access

[Android Central Question]

i think it was after this most recent update to android i started getting this issue. nothing about my network has changed and other devices dont have a issue. the device connects to the network no problem but says no internet connection. this only happens when i connect to the 5g, 2.4ghz has no problem at all getting a internet connection.

I have done:
wiping cache
doing a hard reset
forget networks

i have not done a full phone wipe. other then wiping my phone i dont know what else to do.
