Android Central Question

When I travel abroad, I buy a local sim rather than using roaming, as it is much cheaper, especially for data.
I want to upgrade to Samsung s 9, but heard that it may not work with sim cards in Europe or Asia if I buy UAE version.
How can I verify it?

Who is your current carrier, and do they use GSM or CDMA? Then find out what bands the phone supports.
Now you're ready to travel and get the right SIM from whichever carrier over there is compatible.
Good luck

1. Most likely, although it might get region-locked once you put in your SIM. (And asking Samsung will be like asking a tree, except that the tree makes noise sometimes.)

2. methodman89, CDMA is used in a few small parts of the world (not even Verizon uses it any more), but the Middle East isn't one of those parts, so his carrier is GSM.
