Has Samsung started using service packs independent of carrier firmware updates like HTC and Motorola have started doing? I really like how this allows for updates independent of the carrier. Just curious since I am thinking of getting an S6...Thanks.

Guess I got my answer based on the responses...lol...

I've never seen or heard of this, but I'm also on a Galaxy S3 so I don't really expect to be seeing any updates. I didn't even know Motorola and HTC were doing these.

Sorry that someone did not answer your question right away. I am not aware that Samsung is doing updates that way, could be they have more than 3-5 phones to update unlike HTC and Motorola and Moto is doing Pure Android which helps.

OMG...look at that thing...sheesh!

I just replaced mine after 3 years lol...

Haha yes it is a brick, but at least battery life is one thing I don't have to worry about. It's the one downgrade I'll have to get used to going to the S6

Man you guys can turn any thread to be about battery life.
