Samsung Smart Switch or Samsung Cloud?

I am planning on using Samsung Cloud to transfer my HS layout and stuff to my replacement phone
Do I need to use Samsung Smart Switch first to transfer everything before I restore with Samsung Cloud? Or do I only need to use Samsung Cloud without Smart Switch?

I had great luck transferring my settings from my Note 5 to my Note 7 using Smart Switch. 90+% carried over with no issues.
I would recommend you log in first with your google and samsung cloud accounts though, since the initial setup will ask you too anyway.

I did have to set up a seperate firefox account to get my settings from the browser to sync up.
