I feel the OP. Before I got my first smartphone I was using a feature phone by Verizon and opted to get their VZ Navigator. It was a great app, I would dare say it was better than Google Maps. Good features and directions and you paid a subscription for it, but it was worth it. Then just before I crossed over they started putting ads in it. A monthly subscription and then ads on top of it, for real? We all expect ads for free apps but when you pay for something it kind of feels like you should be opted out of them. Honestly I don't use many Samsung apps. I have noticed Samsung Pay has ads. I expect the Galaxy Store to have ads, no different than Google's Play Store, maybe not as in your face but it's a store after all. I haven't looked into it yet but I'm about to turn off notifications for Samsung Weather. I keep getting little pop-ups that I just swipe away, so I don't actually know if they are ads or contain them or what. Unfortunately I think we're headed towards a Futurama future where they're going to be advertising to us in our dreams once they figure out how.
