Are you sure this isn't damage to the protective plastic film covering the metal frame?

You can see the film starting to peel off on the photo you posted.

There was no film out of the box where that mark is, all the edge film that came with the phone is still intact.

I've decided I am going to get the 512 version and accepted that I'll just have to use my s7 for another month I guess
