Samsung Vs. AT&T Blame Game (SIM Card issues)

I ordered my Gear S3 Frontier directly from Samsung. When I tried to activate the AT&T Number Sync feature, I get "SIM not provisioned MM#2" I called AT&T, they said SIM card is no good, call Samsung. I called Samsung, they said this is an AT&T issue with their SIM card.

I am assuming that the SIM card in the watch is not a changeable part. So, has anyone else gotten this error, if so what hoops did you have to jump through to resolve it?

Or, what route should I take to get this resolved ASAP? I was thinking just walking into AT&T and buy another one and send this one back to Samsung as defective.

And it's the LTE version? Haven't heard of any issues like that before. I can't get number sync to work for me as I have a nexus 6P and apparently isn't supported for att HD voice. Only issue with number sync I've had. However, haven't had any issues with activating the LTE service with att.

Well the s3 using an electronic sim so there isn't an actual card in it. That might be why there are issues. Since att didn't sell it they don't have that particular e-sim registered in their system. While it should be easy for them to add it, they may not know how or that they need to.

I talked to someone else at AT&T and they are having me go to a retail store. They have my SIM on record, but it has been deactivated. The new rep said they need to see ID and my receipt to prove ownership of the device and they can activate it again in the store.

Fingers crossed this isn't a load of crap.

I had the same issue trying to reactivate mine. Had to go through customer service on the phone waiting an hour. I had to explain to them that the watch has an eSIM and there is no physical sim card. Eventually they understood the concept and were able to activate for me.

I went into the store. got the 3rd degree of 'is this stolen' questions. they activated the watch with a phone number and said here it works. I got back to work and the number sync wasn't working (said no cellular network) i called into support. They fixed it over the phone and gave me a $100 credit.

I did notice my new retail box had two sets of sealing stickers. one had been cut then covered with new stickers at the factory.
