This will be a good topic. I just started to use Samsung Wallet & I will be interested to see what our members think.Which one do you prefer and why?
I never really thought of that, but it makes sense. Not all institutions support Samsung,? I am sure most if not all support Apple and Google ...at least in North America.I imagine if you're outside the US, Samsung Wallet would be excellent. I used Samsung for years. However, I have 3 cards/financial institution accounts that don't support Samsung but are all in with Google.
You can initiate a Samsung wallet with a swipe, then choose the card, and then authenticate to pay, which is great. Does Google Wallet work the same on samsung phones?
Also, do any of them support location based services (notification to use the stored gift card at the store)?
I use the side key to launch Google Wallet if I want to use a card that is not my default....just scroll through your cards to select. You can initiate a Samsung wallet with a swipe, then choose the card, and then authenticate to pay, which is great. I know this is an old thread but I've only ever used Samsung Wallet. My husband used top use Google cause of a vending machine at work. Somehow on my watch 7 Samsung quit working I could never get it set up so I haven't used it in a long time. Now we were setting up our 8's and I called my Amex and was told I had to devices connected to that card which is why it wasn't working and I am good to go now but haven't tried.ONLY ever used GOOGLE WALLET.
not much has changed, tbhI know this is an old thread but I've only ever used Samsung Wallet. My husband used top use Google cause of a vending machine at work. But my husband wants us to use Google because and I forgot we have this Citi Mastercard we get points on all the time and it's not supported on Samsung but is on Google so he set up both. I never set up Google just cause I have never used it. I know both were called pay and our now Wallet is their much difference those have used both like pros and cons or does it matter should I just try Google?
I mostly use it when pumping gas and it's nice to use when at a concert and getting a drink no pulling out wallet. I dropped my debit card at a gas pump once. But it's convenient and quick at stores too. I'm sure it's not much different but I was curious cause this is old and I don't know if things have changed lately and when Google even went to wallet cause my husband still had pay and wallet on his phone.
I love the swipe up for Samsung Wallet. However, I have 3 cards that won't work with Samsung but do work with Google (1 a regional bank and 2 others with Fidelity). Therefore, Google it is.It really is up to you... inherently Samsung is easier with the swipe up to use. I have used both and prefer Sammy over Google because of that feature and Google has a step more when using it with an ID at TSA.
Odd that Citi has a CC which isn't honored by Samsung.
I haven't run into that experience since the early years when it was Samsung and Apple volleying out over Banks.
MAKE SURE: disconnect old phones/watches/devices from your Google AND Samsung accounts especially if you don't own or use those devices, since this CAN mess with Card entry.
Good Luck
Peace
