Samsung you're in serious trouble if you think people will pay $1000 for a phone

An amazing device that will last for at least 2 years and have that many bells and whistles, nit is worth the price. Based on pre-orders, I don't think Samsung is in trouble at all here in the US.

Anyone skipping due to price?

I have owned most of the Note devices, but this time I am skipping due to price. $930 is just too much for a device when others at a much lower price range have similar specs and features.

Anyone else on this boat? If not, what justifies, for you, getting a $930 Note 8?

Jump on Demand justifies every overpriced phone I get lol.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

Not with Note 7 owner offer, pretty sweet deal for a great price. Either way there will be plenty of deals reducing the price in a month or two just like for the S8.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

I was gonna skip, but due to the $425, trade in value for my current phone, I'm in

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

That fact that nothing has the features the Note has.

Yeah and Jump pretty much means I'm just trading my S8+ to get my much missed SPen back.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

This is why I'm crying about Samsung not giving us a break after the Note 7 fiasco.

$799 to upgrade or $1,399 to buy outright. Don't forget the 15% sales tax. :(

I could care less about the freebies even if I sell them how much will I get. I was hoping Samsung Canada would at least bring back the $200 trade any phone but apparently it's only available in the US.

Give it a month or 2.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

Check the SHOP SAMSUNG app... With a trade in, Price can be as low as $630, plus get it on whatever carrier you pick and Samsung is already shipping their pre-orders out early next week!
Can't let the price keep you from getting it now....

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

Some of it is due to price. Since I have the S8+ I just feel (for me) it isn't a huge upgrade and isn't worth the cash. Or well more like it feels like the same phone with a few minor tweaks .. too similar for me to pull the trigger.

I don't see anything else running the latest Snapdragon or Exynos with an SPen. So there's nothing out there remotely similar.

To be honest though I'm lurking. Lol. Still waiting for next year's generation coz I'm fine with my S7E for now. I'll wait for under screen fingerprint sensor.

Exactly... And it really shouldn't be an upgrade to a 4 month old phone anyway.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

Jump on Demand is going to have a pretty hefty Down payment for this phone. Probably $250 Or so. The galaxy s8 plus had a $130 down payment and it was less than $800.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

The Note 7 trade in offer sealed the deal for me. I bought a G4 on eBay for $79 to trade in. Made it very affordable for me.

Re: Anyone skipping due to price?

Nope. Got her preordered with $0 down. $480 trade in for Note 5 plus $150 from best buy makes it a grand total of $300 walking out the door. Ain't expensive at all. Hell could have it paid off in a few months if I felt like it.

with the discounts some people are able to knock it down to $600. Price isn't valid with everyone offering something if you preorder or buy it by November, which Verizon told me.

I got into the Note 8 with my Jump on Demand, only paying $25 for Next day air shipping. 39/mo. I'm a very hard core Note fan. I went through two Note 7 recalls and became a little hesitant, but after experience with the S8+, and seeing the Unpacked event for Note 8, and of course the JOD terms, I preorderd Note 8.
