Saving music from Play All Access is horrendously slow.

Since they have more music than Spotify and would be a couple bucks cheaper, I started the free trial of All Access last night. I selected a few albums, added them to my library and told the app to keep those tracks. I checked back over a half hour later and it was only a quarter of the way finished and this is on my home connection at over 25 Mbps! Whenever I've saved playlists from Spotify it takes mere minutes.

I'm at my girlfriend's place now and she has puny 1.5 Mbps DSL, but it's still ridiculous. I'm downloading the new Daft Punk and it's 71% done after 26 minutes. I downloaded the same album on Spotify and it finished in about 8 minutes.

It doesn't matter if Play All Access is cheaper with better selection if the tradeoff is molasses-in-January download speeds. It also seems that the quality of the streamed tracks is noticeably inferior, thinner with less bass, than the downloaded tracks.

Anyone else experiencing such slow performance? 84 percent done after 30 minutes = failness.

But wait, there's less! I waited until it was 100% downloaded and it said it was available offline, taking a mere 35 minutes. I leave the house and barely into the 3rd song, it stops dead. I check the app and it says it can't play the requested STREAM(?!) and because it's set to download on wifi only, it can't download music. Dafuq?

I stopped using it and went back to Spotify because of this exact problem. It's unrealistically slow.

I had a similarly lousy experience with Google Play Music, to the point that I wouldn't consider All Access -- or any other Google content service, for that matter.

Switched back to spotify also. I rather pay 10 bucks for spotify than dealing with google All Access.

I use mainly Pandora and Sky.FM. Both apps run flawlessly. Pandora does a great job of finding artists that interest me. They really have that down to a science.
