Saving photo from email

How on earth do you save a photo from the email app to the Gallery on this HTC One?

find the paperclip or the attachment tab. tap the attachment and save

The photo is sent inline,within the message, not as an attachment. Hence my problem, no, HTC software problem. Did not have this problem with my Sammy.
