The Iphone 7, in the UK will cost £599 for the base 32GB model thats with the UK's Sales tax (VAT) at 20%

One of the things that apple does really well on is support, my Three year old LG Nexus 5 will receive OS updates no more, yet the equally vintage iPhone 5s will.
However with Apple you pay a hefty premium, and some ( although not alot) of that can be justified with the premium price tag apple products have compared to what else is out there.
Android for most people equals Samsung, or maybe LG/Motorola and so on and in some cases people are lucky to see anything more than one major update to their android phone, unless they chose Nexus, and then the update tap may be turned off after 24 months.
For that reason Android, and in particular Nexus/Pixel/whatever needs to be priced at an affordable rate, preferably much lower than the iPhone whilst at the same time not being cheap and nasty.
As for me I will be watching the Pixel phone carefully, paying attention to the price, and even things such as build quality / repair-ability ( stayed away from the 6P due to the bend issues, even my local phone store demo units are bent / kinked at the volume button)
As for the name of the thing - who cares as long as its not too extreme, or maybe something else in another language ( such as the Fukushima egg mascot
