Scheduled dark mode not working 8t

I just got a new 8t and when I set a schedule for dark mode to turn on nothing happens. Has anyone had this problem? Any fix?
It's the T-Mobile variant

I was actually using a specific time, but just in case, what app would I give location permission to?

I believe that you would need to just enable location for sunset to sunrise.

Right, but enable location for what app? I have location enabled for the device, bit I don't know what app to give permission to for dark mode

I'll see if I'm able to find someone else who might know. It's only necessary to enable location for the device on Samsung, but it might be different on OnePlus.
