Scrabble or Word For Friends kill your battery??

I usually use the extended battery, but installed the std battery 2 days ago. My phone has died twice since Saturday, within 6 hours of being fully charged, and I've been using Scrabble and Words for Friends. Not only that, but Scrabble's icon has switched back to the generic blue icon twice. Anyone else having issues with severely short batt life when running either of these apps?

The strange thing is is that I've been using both games for more than a week.

(scrabble was on "Push" and Words was set to 15 minute updates. I just now turned both of them OFF)

I use words with friends and haven't noticed any battery drain from it.

Do you have the notifications turned ON?

I play both wordfeud and words with friends they do use some battery but it isn't dead in six hours. Yesterday under heavy use of both apps i got about 12-15 hours. i am not using extended battery.

For the third time in the last few days, Scrabble's icon reverted to a generic blue one again.
